This article explains how to activate a jBEAM license on a local computer, either online or manually, using the Kistler License Portal. License activation is required to enable the software for use after installation.

At First Start of jBEAM

The activation of the single user license for jBEAM is quite simple if the computer is connected to the internet (aka online). Just enter your license number the first time you start jBEAM:

After successful activation, jBEAM launches its graphical interface and is ready for use. But if this activation fails, it is most likely due to firewall restrictions, please follow the steps in the following section – Manual Activation ...

Manual Online Activation

1. Open the Kistler License Portal at https://software-licenses.kistler.com/ , enter your License code/ Ticket Id and click Next.

2. You will see an overview of the licenses associated with your ticket. Click Activate Licenses to proceed.

3. If it’s your first installation on this computer, let “Get Container automatically“ and also the jBEAM product preselected and click Activate selected licenses.

   • “Get Container automatically“ will download and install a new “Kistler Software VM” container on this computer. If such a container is already found, it will be preselected here.

4. Once the activation is complete, the portal will display the license status, container number and computer name it has been installed on:
