Offline Activation

Activate license for another computer having no internet connection.

For systems/ PCs without internet access (target system), license activation must be performed on another computer with internet access (online system), and files must be transferred between the two computers. Follow these steps for offline activation.

Online activation is recommended if possible.

Preparation:

  1. Ensure the CodeMeter Control Center app is installed on the target system. If missing, download and install the latest version: Wibu CodeMeter Runtime

  2. And inside the CodeMeter Control Center make sure to have a license container named Kistler Software VM present. If it's not there, download the Kistler_Software_VM.WibuCmLif file from our Kistler file share and drag-and-drop it into the CodeMeter Control Center window.

Step 1: Generate and Upload a License Request File

On the target system:

  1. Open CodeMeter Control Center app.

  2. Select Kistler Software VM and click License update.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Select Create license request and click Next.

  5. Click Commit to save the generated WibuCmRaC license request file and Finish in the next confirmation.

  6. Transfer the generated WibuCmRac license request file to the online system.

On the online system:

  1. Go to Kistler License Portal (http://software-licenses.kistler.com).

  2. Enter your license key (ticket ID).

  3. Click Activate licenses.

  4. Click File-based license transfer.

  5. Upload the WibuCmRac license request file and click Activate & Update.

  6. Download the WibuCmRaU license update file.

  7. Transfer the WibuCmRaU file to the target system.

Step 2: Import the License Update File and Create Receipt

On the target system:

  1. Open CodeMeter Control Center.

  2. Select Kistler Software VM and click License update.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Select Import license update and Next.

  5. Select the WibuCmRaU file and click Commit.

  6. After successful import, a confirmation message opens. In there click the here link to quickly create a receipt file.

  7. Click Commit to save the generated WibuCmRaC receipt file and Finish in the next cofirmation.

  8. Transfer the WibuCmRaC receipt file to the online system.

If you missed clicking the here link in step 6, you can also generate it using the Create receipt option in the License update window.

Step 3: Upload the License Receipt File

On the online system:

  1. Back on Kistler License Portal (http://software-licenses.kistler.com). If the page is closed or your session has expired, log in again with your license number and select 'Continue license transfer'.

  2. If the website still shows the last step, simply proceed with Next.

  3. Upload the WibuCmRaC receipt file and click Upload Receipt.

  4. Wait for the confirmation that license transfer successfully completed.
