Offline Deactivation

Release license from a computer having no internet connection. To allow activation on another.

For systems without internet access

If your target system (the one with the license to be deactivated) does not have internet access, you can deactivate the license offline using another computer with internet access (the online system). Files must be transferred between the two systems. Follow these steps for offline deactivation:

Step 1: Initiate Deactivation and Download the Update File

On the online system:

  1. Go to the Kistler License Portal (http://software-licenses.kistler.com).

  2. Enter your license key (ticket ID), which you can find on your license certificate or delivery note.

  3. Click the Re-Host Licenses button.

  4. Select the File-based license transfer option.

  5. In the drop-down list, select the correct container number matching the target (offline) system.

  6. Select Deactivate Licenses.

  7. Download the License Update File (WibuCmRaU) for the target system.

  8. Transfer the downloaded WibuCmRaU file to the target (offline) system.

Step 2: Import the Update File and Create a Receipt File

On the target system (offline):

  1. Open CodeMeter Control Center.

  2. Select the container Kistler Software VM and click License update.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Select Import license update.

  5. Select the transferred WibuCmRaU file and click Commit.

  6. Click the here link in the success confirmation message to create a receipt file.

  7. Save the generated WibuCmRaC receipt file.

  8. Transfer the WibuCmRaC receipt file to the online system.

If you missed clicking the here link in step 6, you can also find the Create receipt option in the License update window.

Step 3: Upload the Receipt File and Complete Deactivation

On the online system:

  1. Return to the Kistler License Portal (http://software-licenses.kistler.com) and enter your license key.

  2. Click Continue License Transfer – or if the website was still open - click Next..

  3. Upload the WibuCmRaC receipt file and click Upload Receipt.

  4. Wait for the confirmation that the license transfer (deactivation) is complete.

 

After successful deactivation, the license is free to be activated on another computer.
