jBEAM 8.2.0

Release Date: Jan 8, 2021

New Features

General

Project metadata and change history

Metadata can now be saved for jBEAM projects (via File → Project Metadata and Change History... or via PROJECT_SERVICE). In addition, versions can be defined in the change history.

Filter history in Data Explorer and table

The filters in Data Explorer and Table now have a history.

opens the settings, the history can be found under "Search".

If filters are entered, they are now saved based on the settings and can be quickly reused in the filter field via a drop-down menu:

Export Release Notes

The Release Notes dialog (Help → Release Notes) now offers the option to export the displayed (filtered) table as a csv file.

Selection of special characters in jBEAM in dialogs

The special character selection dialog can now be called from almost all windows (calculations and graphics) and from the ribbon (Ω button).

Project analysis

Besides XML, JSON is now also available as an export format.

Introducing a new start parameter

A new jBEAM start parameter has been introduced: ShowErrorMessageDialog. The possible values Yes|No|Ask determine whether error windows are displayed. With No the display of error message windows can be disabled even in Mode=Desktop. This overrides the corresponding default setting, but does not overwrite it.

License check in jBEAM

The license check has been changed to Wibu. The expiration date of the jBEAM version is now entered in the log.

Aktuelle Fensteranordnung beibehalten

Beim Erstellen bzw.

Importers and exporters

Lossless sampling mode in MDF Importer

The MDF Importer now offers the new mode "original time stamps (lossless)" under the tab "resampling". This mode generates a time channel that contains the time stamps of all existing time groups. Thus no information is lost.

Resampling for NetCDF Importer analog to MDF Importer

In the dialog of the NetCDF Importer the new tab "Value Ranges" can be found, where resampling settings can be made analog to the MDF Importer.

Bus Frame Log File Importer

The former CAN Log Importer has been extended to support vehicle bus files in principle. So now also FIBEX - FlexRay files and LIN bus files can be imported.

Multi File Import - Selection of the execution time of actions

The execution time can now be set separately for each action.

Export Excel table by template

Excel tables can now be exported using a template (File → Data Export → Excel Table by Template). In the template, the cells for metadata and channel headers must be named after the corresponding properties or channels in the jBEAM project. Then the exporter can automatically determine where in the template the data should be inserted. A manual definition is also possible.

Edas Exporter

With this new component selected data can be exported to an Edas file (*.edt).

Math

Formula editors

New layout and search function

All formula editors and the text resolver have received a new design. The functions are displayed in a table and can be filtered by category. The function descriptions have been extended.
The functions can be searched for strings in formula and description.

Auto-completion

The input fields of the formula editors as well as text fields with embedded formulas in all dialogs now offer autocompletion. Pressing CTRL+SPACE displays a list of possible functions taking into account the word just entered. After selecting a suggestion, this function including. Parameter list is inserted.

Number and naming of variables

Instead of fixed 10 input variables so far, the number of variables can now be increased step by step to any number. The names of "A", "B" etc. can be edited as desired. However, no function or constant names should be used. This is marked in color.

Overview display of the BitCalc configuration

The Bit Arithmetic window now shows a list of all bit definitions. In addition, this list is provided as a compo-nent property "Bit Definitions".

Peak determination and correction

This new calculation component detects outlier values in a measurement signal and corrects them in a definable mode. Peak detection is very easily configurable over a band of allowed values.

A threshold value determines the width of the band to allow more or less deviations.

Curves analysis: Plateau analysis

For the inputs for global/local transient phase, minimum plateau length and averaging phase, the values can now be specified with unit.

Signal filter: FFT bandpass filter and FFT spectrum

To improve performance, it is now possible to perform a parallel calculation for data object groups.

Counting methods

Rainflow analysis

To determine the range limits, there is now an automatic mode that determines the minimum and maximum from the input data.
In addition to a fixed class number, a fixed class width can now be specified.
The "Prague method" of vector calculation has been renamed to 4-point rule. This is now the default behavior. For compatibility reasons, the less common "Stuttgart method" remains, but is now only selectable via an extra dialog.

Damage Accumulation

This new component (Durability Edition) is used to evaluate the influence of a load spectrum on the lifetime of a component.
The matrices can be sorted and filtered in the selection list.

Calculation of counting matrices

This new component (Durability Edition) generates matrices based on specific counting methods. These are specially designed for the requirements from the Durability area.
The matrices can be sorted and filtered in the selection list.

Collective representation

This new component (Durability Edition) calculates a load spectrum that represents the progression of the applied force or the occurring stress over time.

Amplitude Transformation

This new component (Durability Edition) is used for amplitude transformation of Rainflow matrices. This is applied to signals that do not oscillate around zero but contain a center load. The matrix is converted in such a way that this center load is neglected.
After an extension of the calculation, it can now also process Rainflow matrices of different formats.

Graphics

Interactive table

The input column in the Interactive Table can now take over the unit from another column. This means that different units can also be entered row by row.

Bar graph

The bar graph can now also display the actual numerical value.

Controlled image

The controlled image can now also display LEDs analog to the Boolean display.

Crash test dummy

The dummy graph has been extended to include the ChinaNCAP 2021 MPDB standard. In addition, the graph has been adapted for child dummies.

Universal 2D graph

Synchronization of main intervals of axes

Axes that occupy the same area can now be synchronized automatically. Manual reordering of different numbers of main intervals is no longer necessary. For this functionality, the main intervals must be "Fixed" and the scaling must be "Optimized".

Adjustable cursor width

The width of a cursor is now adjustable. The corresponding option can be found in the preferences under the tab "Graphic elements" - "Graphic objects":

In addition, the cursor width can be adjusted in the cursor dialog under the "Show Line" option:

Positionable cursor labels

The "Value as Label" positions of the cursors can now be aligned left/right or up/down and then also moved freely on the line.

Characteristic diagrams

The isolines can now also be configured in automatic mode with regard to line width and line type without having to create manual isoline sets first.
