Open Projects Without Executing Scripts
Projects can now be opened without executing the contained scripts. The new Script Manager lists all scripts as well as Java-Classes and Java-Functions. There, they can be easily examined and individually allowed for execution. This prevents from executing potentially critical code and increases safety when interchanging projects.
Improve Scripting Support
The support in script writing has been enhanced regarding code completion and descriptions. In the "Code Editor Configuration" window, Javadoc libraries (general Java and specific jBEAM Javadocs) can be loaded. With this, classes, methods and fields are completed and descriptions offered. The configuration editor can be reached via Script Editor, Inline Java-Function and Inline Java-Class as well as the Dialog tab in Preferences.
Excel Import: Include Sheet Names in Channel Names
The Excel import has been enhanced so that now sheet names or other custom prefixes can be included in the channel names. With this, the Excel workbook structure can be better reflected in jBEAM and name duplications can be prevented.
Additionally, a mode has been added to refer to sheets by counting indices from the back. This allows e.g. to select automatically the last sheet often being the most recent one.
New Measurement Module "NanoSen PNC Force"
The new measurement module "NanoSen PNC Force" reads values from the Nanosen Sensor Kit, a force sensing material made from a polymer nanocomposite (PNC). The measurement module is in Beta state and offers e.g. the possibility of a measurement in ring buffer mode.
Security Update of Apache Tika Library
A security vulnerability of the used libraries has been fixed, jBEAM now uses an updated Apache Tika module that requires Java 11. For users running jBEAM with Java 8, automatic charset detection for ASCII-based importers now relies on a fallback mechanism, which may lead to different detection results. We recommend upgrading your jBEAM Java version to Java 11.
Action Events for KiReporter
New ActionEvents have been added which are fired during the KiReporter webservice action. These actions can be used in templates to trigger scripts or other calculations. They describe different states of the execution, e.g. loading a template, completion of loading data or completion of validation.
