Borrowing Network Licenses

Borrowing Network Licenses

Using floating licenses requires a network connection to the license server, and the license is occupied only during the jBEAM session. See jBEAM main menu:

If you need to work without a network connection - such as during travel, field work, or offline environments - you can borrow a floating license. This means the license is temporarily transferred from the server to your local computer.

To store the license locally, you need a license container. If you do not have one, jBEAM will prompt you to import it.

You can set a borrowing period up to 30 days (default maximum). During this time, the license remains unavailable to other users. When the period ends, the server automatically releases the license.

Alternatively, back with a license server connection, you can manually release your license or extend the borrowing time.

Tracking Licenses in Use

You find more details of currently running Sessions and Borrowed Licenses using the license server’s WebAdmin page using its CodeMeter Control Center or from anywhere on the network using its hostname and port 22352: http://<license server>:22352
