Calculate a virtual channel based on a catalog

On this page you will learn how to calculate extra channels based on catalog measurements to analyze original channels and virtual channels together.

 Instructions

  1. The page Bundle related measurement files as catalog showed how to create a catalog file using the manual importer application. The result is a so called CML-file that now is located in the source directory next to your original measurement files. Open up a jBEAM instance using the icon at the top right corner of MaDaM’s web interface.

Drag & drop the CML file into jBEAM’s file explorer. This will create a catalog importer in jBEAM.

  2. Create any number of new calculation components that use channels of your catalog and finally create the desired virtual channel you would like to include in your future catalog tests.

  3. Under File->Export Values, select an export file format of your choice and configure it to export only your new virtual channel.

  4. Store your jBEAM project locally as a *.jbs file.

  5. Go back to MaDaM’s manual importer application, delete the formerly imported catalog by selecting it and pressing DEL. Now click the Configure button in the top left corner of the application and click Next until you reach the step called Augmentations.

  6. Upload your newly created augmentation project by clicking the plus button at the bottom.

After the upload, the details section should show Catalog importer as the substituted importer.

  7. Click Next until you reach the import screen and create a new catalog (this time with selected augmentation) as before. You will now see the extra virtual channel under Data Objects.

  8. After uploading the catalog to MaDaM, you can analyze the original channels together with the calculated virtual channel.
