Bundle related measurement files as catalog

If you have a set of strongly related measurement files, e.g. from different DAQ systems that logically belong to the same test, you might want to manage and later analyze them as a whole.

For this purpose, MaDaM has the so-called catalog import. The following instructions will guide you through an example of how to import multiple files together, calculate an additional virtual channel based on these files and store everything together as a logical unit for analysis and reporting.

 Instructions

Create a catalog file

  1. Start the manual importer application using the icon at the top right corner of MaDaM’s web interface.

  2. Select the test type of your choice and click Next (for now skipping all the configuration steps) until you reach the import screen.

  3. Click the button Import measurements as catalog at the top ribbon and choose to select an entire directory as source for your files.

  4. Select a directory from your file explorer, that contains all files you want to bundle as catalog.

     

  5. Choose a name that describes the entire catalog best and hit the Submit button.

     

  6. See how the catalog was imported and provides meta data and channels data of all contained individual measurement files. You can upload the catalog now.

Semi-structured measurement files such as ASCII files require a so-called profile (e.g. *.aix). Make sure to place that file next to your measurements. If multiple ASCII files and their profiles are located next to each other, the name of the profile needs to be the same as the file of the ASCII measurement except for the file extension.
